Petworth Cottage Museum
The First Twenty Years
In 2016 we were able to stage an exhibition to celebrate twenty years of the museum. Extracted from the Petworth Society's scrapbooks of cuttings, the pictures and transcripts collected here occupied three sides of the exhibition hall. Five years on we cannot stage another physical exhibition but we can show these cuttings here. Unless otherwise stated the cuttings are all from the Midhurst & Petworth Observer. 6 Young harpists add to garden delight - 11th June 1998
Three young harpists played on as rain poured down on a fundraising event on Sunday for the Petworth Cottage Museum endowment fund. The youngsters - 12-year olds Harriet Disley from Petworth, Julia Shipley from Northchapel and Sophie Harden from Lindford - are all pupils of Hindhead Music Centre. They were able to move under cover to give their performance at New Grove, Petworth, which helped raise between £250 and £350 for the fund.
